Tournaments

Fees

1. Tournament fees of $20.00 per adult angler will be paid each month before the tournament. Tournament fees will be collected at each Captain’s Meeting and at the launch site 30 minutes prior to the safety meeting. If you are late to a tournament, it will be your responsibility to find an OFFICER and pay your fees and have your live well check, before you start fishing the tournament. Refunds are subject to club officers approval.
2. Boat expenses are to be shared between team members. If ANYONE feels they are not being treated in a fair and Christian-like manner, then they may address the club officers.
“DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE THEM DO UNTO YOU.”
3. Alternates will be allowed in the event a member is unable to make a tournament. It is the responsibility of the member using the alternate to ensure that all tournament rules are enforced including collection of fees.

Schedule

1. All club officers will participate in choosing the tournament sites for the next year. New schedules will be distributed at the first club meeting.
2. All tournament sites, with exception of the classics will be located within 150-mile radius from the Main Street Bridge in downtown Jacksonville, Florida.
3. All tournaments will fish the third Saturday of each month, all Captains Meetings will be held the Thursday night before each tournament. The President and Tournament Chairman may reschedule tournaments as needed.
4. In the event that an alternate site is needed, the club officers will choose a site at that time.
5. There will be 9 tournaments, beginning in April and ending in February, plus a Classic tournament held in March for all qualifying members.
6. Tournament times and weigh-in will be announced each month.

Rules

1. Good sportsmanship rules should always be observed.
2. Boater must have his live well checked by a club officer before fishing.
3. All boats will be equipped with an aerated live well system and safety kill switch.
4. All participants must be properly wearing a life jacket while boat is on plane.
5. All boats must comply with U.S.C.G. rules.
6. No bank cut-offs in front of a tournament boat, minimum of 200 feet.
7. No interference of 100 feet radius if a tournament boat is anchored and trolling motor is folded up.
8. No trolling, live bait or “Jigger Fishing” allowed. Maximum length on rods is 8’.
9. All fish must be brought to the scales in a bag of water.
10. Limit will be 5 fish per boat, at least 14’’ long unless club has 12’’ waivers.
11. One courtesy measurement of one fish per team will be allowed.
12. All bass will be measured on the “Golden Rule” with closed and tail pinched.
13. All bass will be property of the North Florida Christian Bass Club to be released.
14. Dead fish cannot be culled, and must be weighed.
15. If more than 5 fish are brought to the scale you will be culled down starting with the largest fish.
16. Penalty for an illegal fish will be the loss of the fish and the largest.
17. A .50 pounds will be subtracted from the total weight for each dead fish brought to the scales.
18. There will be a one-pound penalty for each minute late at the weigh in. After five minutes the contestant will be disqualified. No meeting or tournament attendance points will be lost.
19. If a contestant is 15 minutes late due to mechanical problems or aiding another boater (member or non-member), participant can be given a 15-minute grace toward points or disqualification. (30 minutes if tournament is held on St. Johns River)
20. If protest is filed and the President and Club Officers find you guilty of that protest or if you are in violation of any state laws, club rules or sportsmanship unbecoming during the tournament hours as specified by the tournament chairman, you may be disqualified.
21. Each contestant is responsible for verifying his weight. No protest for any reason will be considered after the Tournament Chairman closes scales.
22. The North Florida Christian Bass Club Officers and members have the right to vote and remove any club member for blatant disregard of the club tournament rules and manual.

Penalties

Classic Tournament

The NFCBC Classic Tournament will be held in March and will be open to all qualified members.

1. Classic site will be decided on by all club officers and announced by the February meeting. It will be held within a 300 mile radius of the Main Street Bridge in downtown Jacksonville, Florida.
2. The club is not responsible for any expenses of cost or accommodations for the classic.

Classic Rules & Fees

1. All tournament rules apply.
2. All tournament fees apply with the exception that the classic will be a 100% pay out to the winners.
3. All protest must be in to the Tournament Chairman before the closing of the scales. 4. All tournament penalties apply.
5. Classic winnings will be paid out at the Awards Banquet.
6. Number of boats paid out is determined by the number of boats participating.

Classic Qualifications

1. Each angler (boater or non-boater) must have accumulated the set forth amount of points set by club officers at the beginning of each year (see yearly point sheet).
2. Each angler must fish at least 5 tournaments throughout the course of the season in order to qualify for any monies in the Classic. If the angler has not fished the required amount of tournaments, they may still fish in the Classic, but they will not be eligible for any cash payouts.

As with all club functions, The North Florida Christian Bass Club Inc. does not carry any insurance on its members’ or non-members’ boat, vehicle, and place of meeting, and will not be held responsible for anyone’s conduct, accidents, property damage or bodily harm and injuries.
